Most of the schools in our district have garden programs where students can engage with growing, harvesting and food preparation while getting their hands dirty in the soil!  Check out the slide show below to see how our schools are growing.

Our district is also currently working on a project in collaboration with Ecotrust Canada and the City of Prince Rupert to increase growing  and food literacy opportunities with the creation of a school farm.  Stay tuned for regular updates!

For more opportunties to engage with Prince Rupert’s food system, please visit the City of Prince Rupert’s Local Food Strategy page.

The school farm project was made possible with funding from the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction and facilitation from the Public Health Association of British Columbia and Food Banks BC.
